    U.S. History Museum

Well I finally got down to see it after it was closed a while back for renovations. I must say I wanted to bang my head through a wall when I went through the section on the Civil War. For the most part they were awesome displays of Uniforms, Artifacts and Weaponry. I was most impressed by the CS Richmond Musket with steel nose cap, 1861 rear sight with 1863 Springfield screw type bands and no band springs! As well as the 50-70 converted Sharps Rifle! .63 caliber Fayetteville Musket, .38 Caliber Colt Navy model percussion pistol Green

Besides all that I must say it was worth the price of admission!

Joe - please send a version of your post to the museum. I successfully got the recreators of Jesse and Frank James' Great Northfield Raid, Northfield, Minnesota, to quit using M-1's.
