    Sharps carbine barrel lenth

On the Sharps carbine is the 22 inch barrel length from the breech face to the end of the barrel or from the front of the receiver. I only ask as I have an infantry rifle I would like to shorten to carbine length and want it to be correct.

I wouldn't cut down a good rifle barrel. Even if you got it to the right length the taper on the rifle and carbine barrels would be different. The screw hole would be incorrect for the shorter carbine rear sight. You would also have to fit a carbine sling ring bar to the left side of the stock and receiver. Your cut down rifle would not likely pass muster as a carbine with the Small Arms Committee.

the rifle version will bring more money. Then buy a carbine already set up and money left over for lead & powder =)

Wouldn't be a better idea to put the money into a carbine the actually fires when you pull the trigger?
