    I'm suspicious.....

The posts from Maddog33rdVA are beginning to resemble Spam posts generated by picking up words and phrases. One of the latest asks about a M-1863 barrel "How are the threads in the flash pan?" In addition the Competitor # shown is listed as someone who is no longer a member. If the poster does not contact me by PM with a reasonable explanation, their account will be closed and permanently banned from this board.

Purdy shor' he's real John. I FaceBooked someone else on the 33rd to get his name.

Problem I have is I've found over 200 fake usernames with SPAM in their "About Me" section and I can't delete them. You figure out how to delete them yet???

I'm not spamming? And I had to get a replacement card from Judy at fall Nat'ls, I'm sure she would've told me..

I'm just trying to get some spare parts for my team. It's getting harder to find zouave lock parts, but I can look elsewhere if it seems suspicious.

And yes, the threads that receive the nipple in the pan.. sometimes they're messed up.

Crossthreading, wrong size nipple, etc. All could mean having to tap new threads..

There is a member of the 33rd named Maddog. He dropped his membership for a time but has recently joined back up.

Thank you to all for the replies, including the requested PM from the original poster, which I have answered.

My information from earlier in the year had the poster listed as being "inactive". In addition to that, another reason that the post was "suspicious" to me was due to the misuse of the term "flash pan" rather than a nipple seat. As PJ can verify, the auto-generated spam programs are becoming more sophisticated every day. Quite often they will pick up terms and phrases from other similar posts and then misuse them, often posting as real people.

I apologize for the apprehension with the post, but we can't be too careful today. I now consider this topic closed.
