    Pedersoli Lorenz? .

    I watched a short YouTube video by Capandball on the new Pedersoli Lorenz. Looked good and was curious if anyone heard when they might get in U.S.

    I wish I could get Pedersoli guns to shoot the way that guy does!

    Holy crap - his first shot was dead center bullseye and he was shooting clover leafs!

    He'd get a bunch of warning loading like that on our line. Took cap off and placed on halfcock to load, leaned over barrel, thumbed round big time. He was after accuracy and not safety......

    The N-SSA's rules are unique unto themselves. We shouldn't attack, or criticize, others who have their own methods of doing things. Even the NMLRA's safety rules differ from the N-SSA's requirements.

    Agree. N-SSA procedures are designed around rapid fire. And the NMLRA having people load even pistols behind the line gives me serious worries...I like to have the pistol, ammo, and everything else parked in front of me.

    Understood and not an attack.......jus say'n. Leaning over guns while loading or sticking body parts in front of said gun should never be done with any gun. Maybe he'll see our "constructive criticism" and improve his method? =}

    Did't hear when they will be for sale in the US. But I did hear your going to need a fat pocketbook.

    I agree with Eggman regarding his comments about the NMLRA, and will note that their rules have changed over the years, too, like you can't blow down the barrel anymore after the shot is fired! The gentleman in the video is none other than Balaz Nemeth, a world renowned Hungarian international competitor and the Pedersoli representative in Hungary. What we see in the video is a compilation, with cuts for briefness and continuity. He was obviously slow-firing, but was he wiping between shots with the hammer on half-cock...we don't know! As for pushing the projectile in with his thumb, no different than the NMLRA. Let's visit round ball shooting for a moment. I know there are many of us in the N-SSA who also shoot Kentucky rifles. So how about loading a patched round ball where first you push the ball onto the bore over the patch with your thumb, followed by a short starter usually gripped in one hand while the other smacks the top of the starter to get the tight fitting patch and ball combination into the bore about 2". Followed by the ram rod being grasped by one or usually both hands wrapped around the rod to push the tightly patched ball down onto the powder. This is usually done with quite a bit of exertion, too! In our sport I have seen individuals who were slamming the ram rod into the bore in an attempt to get a stuck Minnie ball down a fouled barrel be wisely instructed by safety officer to ground the arm to be cleared by ordnance staff. You have no idea what the rest of the muzzle loading world thinks about our rapid fire matches, where premature ignition while pouring the powder down the barrel is a not uncommon event! Different sports, different rules, different countries, and neither one should inflict their beliefs upon the other.

    Well said, John! I think Balazs knows his way around a rifle musket.
