    Bernadelli 1841's

Gentlemen, I know the early Bernadelli 1841's had the silver soldered or brazed on bolsters, and then went to welded on. When did that change take place? Did all the welded ones have a "W" stamped into the bolster? Looking at possible buying one, but I don't want something that's going to fly apart on me.

As I recall it, the bolsters were changed to "welded" some 45+ years ago, and yes they are all stamped with a "W" on the face of the bolster to indicate they are welded onto the barrel. If anyone does not think the brazed bolsters will fracture at the seam, or come off the barrel, believe me they will as I have seen it happen!

Is the "W" on the flat of the bolster? Does anyone have a picture?

Yes, it is a large "W" stamped on the face of the bolster. I do not have a photo at this time.

Thank you! Exactly as I'd pictured it. The one I was looking at doesn't have it, so I'll pass.

Does anyone have the original specs on the Bernardelli 1841's?
