FS: Make your own wingless caps

Now you see'em, now you don't

John Bly has developed a die to remove the wings from the German Musket caps. Now 1st Model Maynard / Sharps shooters and others who prefer the wingless type of caps can keep shooting. The die mounts in a standard reloading press and is quite simple in operation. The parts prone to wear are made of tool steel and properly hardened for long life. John will demonstrate it in Yecks Place at the Nationals. The dies will be available for sale there. The price for the die set is $125.

The dies are assembled, tested and packaged, ready to set up and use. I worked with Danny Sheetz of the 11th VA on these. He is a retired tool and die maker and I'm a retired engineer. We went through several prototypes before settling on the final product. We tried to keep it simple, safe and effective. Several sets are promised but I should have enough as many shooters still have a supply of wingless caps. Check it out at Yeck's place.
