    Lyman #518145

Anyone using Lyman #518145 (350 grains)?

What model of carbine or rifle?

Yes. Many skirmishers use this bullet (or very similar style) for Smith Carbines and Maynard model 1 and 2 carbines.

I'm getting the mold to try out in paper patched in a muzzleloader.
Perhaps there's a carbine in my future also.

    Just opened the package.
    The mold is simply pristine.
The box it was mailed in to the original owner has the Ideal name together with Lyman's, from the transition period.
So wow, I'm a happy guy.

Heh, just really not ready to spend big bucks yet.
For right now I'm gonna try it out in a .52 bore. The bullet is pretty light weight for its diameter so getting it to expand, fill the rifling and provide accurate shooting may be a problem. The proof is in the pudding so will have to try it out to find out.
