I just made this sight for my 1853 Enfield that slides on the barrel and tightens down with settled screws would this be legal to use In reenactments thanks

    Probably not.

But, you don't need a functional front sight in reenactmentsm since you're firing blanks. Plus, you presumably need a front sight that a bayonet will fit over, and they will not fit over front sights that are significantly taller than stock.

For N-SSA competition, you can use a taller front sight, but it has to be fixed and generally follow the form of the original front sight.

To go out and just target shoot -- have at it.
