    1835/1840 bayonet

Anybody have an 1835/1840 bayonet they would consider selling? Not looking for anything close to collectors grade, just one to stick in the ground when I'm shooting. You can reply at my email address zouave47@aol.com

    Dan,

It's a free country, and your money...

But I cringe when I watch Skirmisher drive, grind, and literally hammer into Mother Earth original bayonets, for the sole purpose of holding a ram rod... What an inglorious fate for an original artifact and icon.

"Cold steel" (aka Bayonets) were intended for the innards of enemy soldiers; never, as a prop or place holder...

Purely my feelings, results may vary - but I'd ask/beg that you consider a repo if you're only wanting a support for your ram rod. You'll get the same results, while also preserving a piece of history (as well as their dignity).

    Food for thought brother!

Yup. I shoot original guns in MLAIC competition...but they are pampered. My training guns are the repros.

    1835/1840 bayonet

It's still a free country, I still have the money, and
I'm still looking for an original 1835/1840 bayonet to lean my original ramrod against when I'm shooting my original 1835/1840 Lehman-converted musket in smoothbore competition.

Here's one that might suffice. Of course, it is a little pricy.
