Hi Pat! You may not remember, but I bought some GOEX from you a couple years ago.

If it doesn't move here, I may try the CWR forum, but I'm not a member there (since I don't particularly reenact that period).

Yes Sir......I remember and pointing you this way. Next you. We'd to sign on the dotted line, add a dab of blood, cut that 55' down to ah two banded and join up. Least it has a Maynard tape primer on it

Ha! Well, it may have a tape primer cover, but it's purely cosmetic. Just as well... not as though suitable primer tapes are available.

Well we of PJ's "Got Maynard" crowd only tolerate the real thing. Here's my Manhattan Revolver with the primer door open and closed. Notice the single nipple so you got to use the tape primer. Notice also the button on the underside - you got to rotate the cylinder by hand between shots. I've found roll tapes for cap guns work in these if you narrow the tape on both sides. Modern cap guns are indexed different so you have to position the business part of the tape correctly each shot. The Iredell Blues demoted me to the B team because I was firing too slow with this gun, and the 28 cal balls were bouncing off the targets. I do have an actual Maynard primer tape I will sell --- $139.00.

Good thing you have those small lil hands! Never tried the modern caps gun tapes in mine. Ones way to Purdy to do anything with the the other might blow up "attic find"

You know, it may not be that hard to make your own primer tapes. I don't follow the "exploding target" scene that seems popular these days, but it seems one can put together a solution that can be applied at the proper spacing on the paper of your choice.

We made a similar compound in chemistry class, as I recall.
