Identificattion help needed on Sharps Carbine

I have a Sharps carbine, serial number 83414, that I am looking for information on. It has a Corps badge carved in the forestock just in front of the lever on the bottom that identifies it to the XII/XX Corps, First Division.

    Thanks for your assistance.

    Jim,
I just went through Earl Coates and John McAulay's book, "Civil War Sharps Carbines and Rifles." This book has listings of some Sharps, by serial number, and, if known, who they were issued to. I didn't see your serial number among those listed.

    Jim,

I just checked my Springfield Research Service 4 volume set. Nothing in there either.

    Good luck,
    Barry
