In 1988 I bought a Parker Hale 3-banded Enfield 1853 Model, SN# 6659. The asking price is $850.
I bought this in 1988 and it was rarely used. I fired less than 50 rounds, The Bluing and the bore are very good. The wood has a few dings but it is in very good condition.
It comes w/:
Enfield Lyman bullet mold
Enfield leather cartridge box w/ tin box and strap
Enfield bayonet with leather scabaard
This is the Birmingham UK production; wholly made at Parker-Hale. . The Italian made Parker Hale Enfields are easily distinguished by their lock plate markings which read Parker Hale in front of the hammer with no date. The Birmingham made version reads “1853” over “ENFIELD.” Neither one is period correct but besides an early four digit serial number, the lock plate is a quick way to identify a 1st generation Birmingham made Parker Hale. I have the date over the "ENFIELD" on my lock plate. The stock is one not made up of two parts.
I plan to bring it to the April 15-17 Match at Fort Shenandoah for anyone to look at it.
I can be texted at 540-903-6013 or nova_gjones@yahoo.com.
Thank you all in advance.
